Former President Donald Trump is calling out President Joe Biden's mental abilities, demanding on Thursday that he take a "cognitive test" after Biden's doctors determined Wednesday he does not need one.
"Crooked Joe Biden must take a Cognitive Test. Maybe that way we would be able to find out why he makes such terrible decisions," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "I took two of them, and ACED them both (no mistakes!). All Presidents, or people wanting to become President, should mandatorily take this test!"
On Wednesday, the 81-year-old Biden underwent his annual physical at Walter Reed Medical Center.
After the exam, Biden's doctor wrote in a memo that the president remains "fit for duty" and has no notable changes in his health from the last year.
"The President feels well, and this year's physical identified no new concerns. He continues to be fit for duty and fully executes all of his responsibilities without any exemptions or accommodations," Dr. Kevin O'Connor wrote in a memo shared with reporters.
O'Connor then shared that Biden's "extremely detailed neurological exam" showed no signs of stroke, multiple sclerosis, or Parkinson's. The president also reportedly had "excellent" motor skills.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre shut down questions about Biden skipping the cognitive test despite concerns and a recent special counsel report questioning his cognitive abilities.
"He passes a cognitive test every day as he moves from one topic to another test, understanding the granular level of these topics," press Jean-Pierre said.
Trump, who is only four years younger than Biden, has continued to hammer him for being "incompetent" but refrained from going as far as to call him too old to be president.
Still, a majority of Americans believe that both men are too old for office, with an ABC News poll from earlier this month showing 86% of Americans think Biden is too old and 56% think both are too old for another term.
Trump has shot back at recent questions about his mental abilities, saying at a rally on Saturday that there was nothing to worry about.
"There's no cognitive problem," Trump said. "If there was, I'd know about it."
