Woman shows off 31-pound baby and Detroit Lions jokingly try to recruit him

As the Detroit Lions prepare for the playoffs ahead of Super Bowl LIX, it looks like the team is also preparing for future success by… scouting babies on TikTok.

In a video posted on the popular social media app (which is expected to be banned in the U.S. as of Sunday), California-based user Madison Peltzer shared a funny video of herself and her baby son. On the screen, it read: “When your six month old is 31lbs,” and audio from the film “Instant Family” played over it.

A caption on the video also said that the baby is “in the 99th percentile for everything.” Peltzer revealed in another video this week that he was just 9 pounds and 2 ounces when he was born and that he’s been exclusively breast fed.

By Friday – five days after Peltzer posted the original video with her baby – it had more than one million likes and nearly 6,000 likes. One account that stopped to react was the Detroit Lions’, with a repost and a comment. It’s one-word comment was simply: “Dibs.”

In a reaction video with audio from “Madagascar 2” Peltzer told the football team “give us a few years & we’re there.”

This Saturday, the Lions will play against the Washington Commanders in a playoff game at Detroit’s Ford Field.
