LAREDO (1080 KRLD)- Just after midnight, agents received a call from Laredo police about a tractor trailer that was parked in front of a business. Officers say they heard noises inside the trailer.
They broke the seal of the locked door and found 67 people inside who were from Guatemala and Mexico. Agents says the people were in the U.S. illegally. They took those inside the truck into custody and seized the tractor trailor.
Laredo Sector Chief Patrol Agent Matthew J. Hudak says,"Strong partnerships between law enforcement agencies keeps our community safe and saves lives. I commend these Laredo Police Department officers for their quick response and diligence in locating this vehicle and helping stop another dangerous human smuggling case."
