Mark Middleton, who was indicted in May by a federal grand jury for his role in the attack on the US Capitol building, is challenging incumbent Republican State Rep. David Spiller of Jacksboro in House District 68.

Middleton and his wife Jalise have pleaded not guilty to 9 counts involving assault of a law enforcement officer, interference with a law enforcement officer during civil disorder, obstruction of an official proceeding, unlawful entry, and disorderly conduct.

The FBI has photos of the couple at the US Capitol January 6th. Both remain free and are awaiting trial.
