AUSTIN (1080 KRLD)- Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has been ordered by a federal judge to testify in an abortion case after intentionally evading the subpoena last week.

US District Judge Robert Pitman rejected Paxton's attorney's argument that it would be too much to ask of the state's top lawyer to testify in the case brought by Abortion funds. Paxton has done interviews suggesting that the state may use $100,000 civil penalties against any funds that aid in paying for abortions out of state.

It was first brought up by State Representative Briscoe Cain in March. Paxton fled his house last week to avoid being served a subpoena in the case.
