A deadly collision Thursday afternoon on southbound I‑35 near Leon Creek claimed four lives and injured at least 21 others - including children and seniors - when a stolen white Camaro slammed into a small tour bus en route from Fort Worth to Mexico.
Authorities say the Camaro was speeding when it struck the bus pulling a trailer around 2:30 p.m., triggering a multi-vehicle shutdown and snarling traffic for hours.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus confirmed that the four suspects fled the scene on foot, and one was reportedly armed with an AK-style rifle.
The victims range from young children to seniors, with the deceased identified as older adults; eight people suffered life-threatening injuries, while 13 others were treated as a precaution.
The bus - owned by Transportes Guerra - had scheduled stops in Eagle Pass and regions of Mexico. Company officials urge loved ones of potential passengers to call their hotlines for information
The tragic incident remains under active investigation, with more updates expected as police pursue leads.
