
Govenor Greg Abbott is threatening the job of Texas A&M's President.
The threat is over claims that A&M broke the state's ban on DEI programs, diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
The Texas Tribune reports that the threat followed a university email that invited some staffers and students to attend a conference that was limited to Blacks, Hispanics or Native Americans.
When asked if he would tolerate that, the governor responded "hell no."
He later on posted on X, that the situation "will be fixed immediately" or the president will soon be gone.
President David Welsh released a statement saying the school will continue to honor both the letter and intent of the law. Adding that the school does not support any activitiy that excludes people based on race, creed, gender or age.
