Months after launching an investigation against a Medicaid insurer in Texas, the Texas Attorney General has closed it.

The investigation closed after finding no violations against Superior Insurance which is one of the state's largest providers of Medicaid.

This came after a hearing in the Texas Legislature where the CEO was questioned if the company had hired private investigators to spy on legislators and others.

Attorney General Ken Paxton says their investigation found what the company did was not illegal.

The CEO of the insurance company was fired after the hearing.

Paxton says there was no evidence of any surveillance or violation of privacy discovered or indicated within the investigation.

In a statement, Superior HealthPlan said they appreciated the swift work of Attorney General Paxton and his team.

The statement went on to say that they are pleased the numerous false accusations resulting from the March 26th DOGE committee hearing have been rebutted by the Attorney General’s review.
