Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's office has announced a new investigation related to 33 "non-citizens" who are accused of illegally voting in the 2024 election.
A statement from Paxton's office does not give exact locations of where the illegal voting took place but did say this stems from a referral from Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson.
"Noncitizens must not be allowed to influence American elections," Paxton said in a statement. "I will use the full weight of my office to investigate all voter fraud."
The referral comes after the state gained access to the U.
S. Citizenship and Immigration Service's SAVE database.
President Donald Trump signed an order directing the Department of Homeland Security to give access to state election officials.
