Families in the Taylor Independent School District near Austin are getting a welcome surprise after an anonymous donor paid off all outstanding student lunch balances this week.
District officials confirmed the contribution on October 2, saying the donor covered every negative meal account across the district’s campuses. The move effectively wipes out all unpaid lunch debt for Taylor ISD students, giving families a clean slate heading into the second half of the fall semester.
While the district did not disclose the total amount of debt cleared or the number of students affected, administrators called the donation an unexpected act of generosity that ensures every student can access meals without worry.
Taylor ISD serves roughly 3,400 students in Williamson County, about 35 miles northeast of Austin. The district says the gift highlights the community’s ongoing support for local families and students.
