Arkansas officials are sending National Guard troops to Texas to help with security along the southern border.
According to reports, the Arkansas Guard members will be stationed at the border to help with Operation Lone Star. About 40 members of the Arkansas National Guard will be in Texas from April 1st through the end of May.
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders says they will be helping with the mission to stop illegal immigration and drug trafficking. She visited the Texas-Mexico border last month along with several other GOP Governors.
Arkansas previously sent National Guard troops to the border in the summer of 2023 and in 2021.
