The words "bullet train" and "Texas" seem to come up in tandem every so often. But, they never seem to stay together for long...
With the new legislative session coming up, one of the advance bills does deal with high-speed rail. It has been introduced by John Bucy, a Democrat representing parts of Williamson County and Austin.
His bill would allow TxDOT to partner with TEH private sector in hopes of connecting Austin, San Antonio and North Texas somewhere along I-35.
A plan for a Houston to Dallas train is still just a maybe, but it may be more likely for a high-speed route from Dallas to Fort Worth. Many of the approvals for that train are already done.
