Wednesday night, President Joe Biden is scheduled to talk about ending his reelection campaign. The president will give the speech from the Oval Office at 7 p.m. Central.

Then over the next few days, both he and Vice President Kamala Harris are planning trips to Texas.

Harris will give the keynote speech at the American Federation of Teachers' annual convention in Houston Thursday. After Biden ended his reelection campaign, AFT endorsed Harris.

"The educators, bus drivers, nurses, public employees, higher education workers, correctional officers and doctors of the AFT stand with Kamala. We are fully committed to this fight: united, mobilized and ready to vote in this year's election,"  President Randi Weingarten wrote in a statement.

Harris visited Texas earlier this month, speaking at the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority convention in Dallas July 10.

"I do believe this is the most existential, consequential and important election of our lifetimes," she said.

Joe Biden himself plans a stop in Texas next week. He had originally planned a visit to the LBJ Presidential Library July 15 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act. The White House and library postponed the trip after the assassination attempt of Donald Trump.

That trip has now been rescheduled for Monday, July 29.
