The City of Houston is doing everything it can to have the name of Sheila Jackson Lee live on in a big way.
The Houston City Council voted unanimously to name Terminal E at Bush Intercontinental Airport after the late congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Jackson Lee passed away in July from cancer.
Councilman Edward Pollard says she was responsible for over $125 million being allocated to the Houston airport system. "Without even saying her full name here in Houston, when you say the congresswoman you automatically think of Sheila Jackson Lee. She served the 18th congressional district for 30 years."
He says she was known for tirelessly representing the city of Houston.
