The fast-growing Dempsey Fire in Palo Pinto County is still burning out of control a little south of Graford.

Officials say the fire broke out last Thursday and has now grown to nearly 12,000 acres. It is only about 18 percent contained.

Fire crews from around the state have been converging on the area including crews from the Fort Worth Fire Department and the Cresson Volunteer Fire Department in Johnson County.

The Texas A&M Forest Service says ground crews and aviation assets are trying to establish a fireline.
