One of the saddest days of a parent’s life is the day their child is old enough to beat them at a particular game, sport or competition. Sadly for one DFW parent, that day may be coming way sooner than expected, as his child is already considered one of the fastest kids in America.
Now, the 8-year-old North Texan is hoping to take her speed to the next level by competing in the Junior Olympics.
Cameron White knew at a young age his daughter had a special running ability. Now, that is being proven as the 8-year-old from Red Oak has already won gold medals at the AAU Gulf Primary/8U Championships, and now is attempting to earn a spot at the Junior Olympics.
According to NBC DFW, his daughter, Dakota White, will soon compete at the district track meet in Arlington.
“My [favorite race] is the 100 [meters] because all you have to do is run down,” said Dakota. Her father claims she can already run that distance in 14 seconds.
