Former President Donald Trump and his allies are warning that non-citizens have registered to vote and will be casting ballots.

But those in charge of elections say there are plenty of checks-and-balances to make sure that doesn't happen.

San Antonio's Elections Coordinator Jacque Callanen says their list gets sent to the Secretary of State. "When anyone applies to register to vote, there is literally a box to check 'I am a US citizen'," she says.

They work with State Troopers and Homeland Security to validate citizenship.

Allegations of non-citizens voting are nothing new. Trump previously falsely claimed that noncitizens contributed to Hillary Clinton’s popular vote advantage in the 2016 presidential election.
