Before we travel and gather for the holidays, public health leaders want everybody to get a new vaccine that is now available.
Dr Jason Bowling with the University of Texas Health System says this is not a booster shot.
"We're doing an updated COVID vax, similar as to how you have to an updated flu shot each year," says Bowling.
He says COVID keeps evolving. And research is keeping up. These shots get the same testing as any other vaccine, meaning they're safe.
