The Texas Department of Public Safety has closed down all its Driver License offices across the state due to a "technical issue," Friday morning.
According to a post on the social media platform X, customers with appointments should have been notified. They say their IT teams are "working diligently on a fix," but there is no estimate time of when the offices will reopen.
It is not known whether this technical issue is related to the Microsoft update glitch that has caused cyber chaos since early morning Friday resulting in grounded flights, bank business impacts and disruption to many businesses.
Texas DPS urges customers to monitor their social media pages and website for updates on the situation.
