An East Texas wildfire is one of more than a half-dozen still burning across the state.
The Tyler County Neches River fire has forced the closure of Ranch Road 255 near Angelina National Forest.
The Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department from Jasper assisted in work to contain the fire, along with at least four other departments have been working constantly since the fire broke out Tuesday.
Firefighters tried to get out ahead of the fire to evacuate livestock from the path of danger. This one is burning very near the much larger Shearwood Creek fire near the Sam Rayburn Reservoir. That one has blackened more than 3,500 acres. Out-of-state crews have also been called in to assist.
