Have you ever heard people refer to Australia as “British Texas?” They may call it that as a joke, but those people wouldn’t believe how right they were.
Officials were notified of an unusual occurrence at a park in Northeast Texas: a kangaroo just hop, hop, hopping around!
The Texarkana Police Department quickly dispatched to Spring Lake Park where they were able to capture the marsupial, which they nicknamed “Rocky.” It wasn’t just Rocky, either! His entire FAMILY was found at the park!
Kangaroos are obviously not native to Texas, but they are legal to own as pets.
According to NBC DFW, officers are unsure how Rocky and his family ended up in the Lone Star State, but it appears they are now calling Texas home!
