An out-building in Kennedale is a smoky, soggy mess from last night's fire that broke out on Swinney Hiett Road near Steeplechase about a mile west of Highway 287.
Firefighters from Kennedale, Mansfield and Rendon helped douse the fire but it took more than an hour to do it.
Neighbors said they heard popping noises or explosions but fire commanders have not said what was burning. Smoke could be seen and smelled for miles, drawing neighbors outside to see what was burning.
No injuries were reported.
