Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) will deliver an update Monday morning to provide information on the state's cold weather response. He will be joined by officials from the Texas Division of Emergency Management, the Public Utility Commission, and ERCOT.

Abbott emphasized the importance of being prepared for freezing temperatures and urged Texans to take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their property. Emergency response personnel will be on standby 24/7 to assist those in need.

Abbott also reassured the public that the state's electrical grid is ready and reliable, with more power and backup fuel available than ever before. He encouraged Texans to contact their local power providers in case of any localized outages.

The news conference will be held at the State Operations Center in Austin, where Abbott will receive a briefing from state agency partners on the cold weather response preparedness.

Texans are advised to stay indoors, keep warm, and utilize warming centers if needed.
