Crawfish lovers hold onto your pots and pans because it looks like we're in for a ride this season.
Todd Sink, our crawfish guru from Texas A&M, spilled the beans on what's going on in the world of mudbugs this year.
He says Texas and Louisiana have faced a wild ride with drought and wild temperature swings. But while Texas dodged a few bullets, our Cajun cousins had to deal with some extra drama, like pesky diseases and invasive critters.
Because of that, Sink says we're shelling out an extra $3-$5 per pound for crawfish, and that's if you can even find them!
Many retail outlets in major metros like Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio have listed crawfish as "not available" or "out for the season."
