Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb is sending 50 troops from their State National Guard to El Paso, this month in an effort to assist the Texas National Guard and the Texas DPS in Governor Greg Abbott’s efforts to expand his border strategy.

"I extend heartfelt appreciation to members of our Indiana National Guard deploying to the southern border," Gov. Holcomb said in a post on social media. "Your dedication to safeguarding our nation’s borders and communities is commendable."

Holcomb made the decision to deploy troops in collaboration with 12 other state governors to support Abbott’s plan to stop the flow of immigrants and had previously signed onto a statement declaring solidarity with Texas’ strategies along with 25 other governors.
