Irving police are searching for a scammer who's been ripping off senior citizens across the nation.
Police say last Thursday they somehow convinced an 88-year-old woman who lives out of state to send $15,000 in cash to someone in Irving. The scammers told her to wrap the money in foil and put it between the pages of a book. She mailed the money to someone named "M. Ali" and sent it to the CVS on West Rochelle Road which has a UPS hub.
This past Saturday a man can be seen on store video picking up two packages. Police are hoping to catch this guy before he scams anyone else. If you have any information please reach out to Detective Kiernat at bkiernat@cityofirving.org or 972-721-3666.
