The Johnson County Double Back Fire is still 50 percent out of control today and it has now burned at least 1,400 acres.
Officials say the fire broke out near Godley over the weekend and has been burning in very rugged country, presenting real challenges for the fire crews to reach the firelines.
Johnson County Emergency Management Director Jamie Moore says even after the fire is 100 percent contained, mop-up efforts may well continue through at least Wednesday night and maybe longer.
A few outbuildings like sheds and barns have been damaged.
