A man died early Monday after becoming stuck upside down in a clothing donation bin behind a shopping center in Spring, Texas, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say he called 911 around 1:30 a.m., telling dispatchers he was struggling to breathe as he hung trapped inside the metal container.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene but were unable to free him before he died. Deputies say they believe the man was homeless, though his identity has not yet been released.
Authorities are continuing to investigate how he became lodged in the bin and whether structural issues or environmental factors played a role. The sheriff’s office has not reported any signs of foul play.
