Austin Police are investigating an incident in which an Austin police officer shot a man on Friday night.

It happened after a call about a car crash involving two vehicles in which a man was bleeding from his face. Then a second call came in from the same location about a man waving a gun and firing shots in the air.
When officers located the man they ordered him to drop his gun, but refused and started moving toward police. An officer fired one shot and wounded the man. He was hospitalized with what are said to be non-life-threatening injuries.
