With DNA technology, a US Army veteran from Midland has been identified as the man whose remains were found in a Montana forest nearly four years ago.

Reports say the body was identified as Michael Moler, he would now be 66-years-old. The identification was made by The Woodlands-based Othram Technologies where scientists built a DNA profile which led to relatives of Moler.

His skeletal remains were found by hunters in 2019 but investigators believe he had been dead for some years by then.

They can't say what the cause of death is but detectives do not believe it was due to a crime.
