Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is calling for urgent action to address the state's water issues.

Miller highlighted significant challenges facing the Rio Grande Valley, where conflicts over water rights with Mexico and New Mexico are intensifying. He noted that two major lakes that supply water to the region are at critically low levels.

Despite the availability of federal grants and unspent state funds aimed at addressing these problems, Miller expressed concern that legislative action is needed. He hopes the Texas Legislature will take up these issues when it convenes in January.
