A Mississippi jail escapee has been captured in Harris County.
Over the weekend officials say Jerry Raynes and three other prisoners escaped from the Hinds County jail in southwest Mississippi.
On Thursday, Raynes was arrested more than 400 miles away at a hospital in Spring Valley, a suburb of Houston. Police say someone at the hospital recognized Raynes from news coverage of the escape.
He's being held at the Harris County Jail until he can be extradited back to Mississippi.
One of Rayne's fellow escapees died in a fire at a Mississippi house where he held police at bay. Investigators say he burned the house down around himself.
The other two surviving escapees remain on the run.
