More information is emerging about the accident that put former TCU quarterback Bram Kohlhausen in a San Antonio-area hospital over the weekend.

On Tuesday night, Kohlhausen's former coach Gary Patterson tweeted a request for prayers, saying only that Kohlhausen had "serious injuries," without giving any information on what happened.

Now, former Star-Telegram sports writer Jim Reeves is tweeting out some more details. Reeves, who wrote a book about Kohlhausen's time at TCU, says he is in critical condition in ICU at Brooke Army Medical Center outside San Antonio after a horrible hunting accident that has left him with life-threatening and potentially debilitating injuries.

Friends say Kohlhausen was hunting hogs from a helicopter and fell out from a height of perhaps 60 feet.

Kohlhausen has a permanent place in TCU lore for leading the Frogs from a 31-point deficit to a triple-overtime victory over Oregon in the 2016 Alamo Bowl.

Kohlhausen was starting in place of Trayvone Boykin who was suspended from the team over a bar fight the week before the game.
