Does it seem like you're getting more spam calls than ever?

It seems like we all are, and how many we're getting might shock you. A new report from the FCC finds that Americans are now receiving four billion junk phone calls per month.

Apparently, it's a lot worse in some states than in others. Especially during an election year where states that have competitive Senate or Governor's races like Texas.

A consumer watchdog group called Whistle Out has crunched the numbers and determined that Texas has the seventh-highest number of robocalls per capita in the country at 220 per person per year. That includes everyone, even people who don't have a phone.

If you limit it to adults with phones, the number is a lot higher. However, it is not as high as it is in Louisiana. Louisiana has 339 per person annually, putting them at the top of the list. Then it's Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee.

These are all red states with anti-regulation legislatures and that opens the door for these companies to bug the crap out of us. If you don't want to be bothered, Alaska is the place to be. The average resident there gets just 68 robocalls per year, a little over one per week. Then it's Vermont, Washington, Iowa, and Utah.
