A northeast Texas firefighter has now died more than three weeks after he was gravely hurt in a crash while on his way to help at an accident scene.
Over the weekend, the family of 18-year-old Evan Brown made the heart wrenching decision to remove him from life support.
Brown was active in his family's trucking, ranching and farming operation in Fannin County. Since he turned 18 he has also been a member of the Honey Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
On the night of July 9th he and another firefighter were on their way to a call when their pick-up truck struck a cow in the roadway and rolled several times. He was flown to Medical City of Plano where he'd been in intensive care ever since.
His funeral is Thursday afternoon in the gym at Honey Grove High School where Brown graduated just a couple of months ago.
