Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched a new online tip line asking Texans to report alleged violations of the state’s recently enacted “bathroom bill,” a law that restricts the use of public restrooms and certain facilities based on a person’s sex assigned at birth.

The tip line went live this week through the attorney general’s office as the state moves to enforce the new statute.

The law, passed by the Texas Legislature and signed by the governor, applies to public buildings and facilities covered by state law, including some government-owned spaces. Paxton’s office says the reporting system is designed to help identify potential violations and support enforcement efforts under the Texas Women’s Privacy Act.

Supporters of the law argue it is intended to protect privacy in public spaces, while opponents say it could lead to confusion, discrimination, and inconsistent enforcement. Civil rights groups have raised concerns about how the law will be applied in everyday situations and whether it could expose transgender Texans to increased scrutiny.

Paxton has made enforcement of the bathroom law a priority for his office, signaling that complaints submitted through the tip line could be reviewed for potential legal action. The law remains subject to legal challenges as implementation continues across the state.

You can access the online tip line here.
