Republicans wanting to keep control of the House headed toward the Midterms are singing a much different tune on redistricting than Democrats.
Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne of Irving says she will run in whatever district she falls in and is worried what democrats will do if they take control.
"Listening to some of them last week that they said that if democrats get control of the House, the first thing they're going to do is cut I.C.E. and stop the efforts of protecting our border," Van Duyne said. "That is scary to me."
Democrats have called the redistricting process racist and that the effort erased the voices of minority voters.
Van Duyne looks at other states and what they have done.
"I have looked at what democrats are doing in Illinois.
When they get an opportunity, they are totally chopping up, getting rid of republicans," she said. "You look at Massachusetts, 35 percent of statewide votes is republican and yet they have zero seats in Congress."
President Donald Trump had called for Texas to gain at least five republican seats in the redistricting effort.
