Ashanti Grant is still in the hospital. On the night of February 8th, Ashanti was in the back seat of her family vehicle when someone in a GMC Denali pick-up opened fire, striking Ashanti in the head. Her family says she was watching cartoons at the time.

Investigators believe the family's vehicle got in between two drivers who were racing one another.

At a Monday press conference, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner spoke specifically to the shooter, saying "my advice would be to turn yourself in, because we're not going to stop until we find you."
