The largest rocket ever made is due to blast off for a test flight in far south Texas this morning.

Elon Musk's Space X is preparing to test a huge, stainless-steel machine that could one day carry humans to the moon, Mars and beyond.

Space X acknowledges that this first test flight will be extremely risky. That launch attempt is set to take place during a 150-minute window that opens at 7 a.m. Texas time.

Named simply "Starship" the rocket is standing nearly 400 feet high on the launch pad in Boca Chica near Port Isabel within sight of the Gulf of Mexico.
