The Houston Texans are expanding the reach of their girls flag football program to over 80 schools in the state!

The program will include all Houston ISD High Schools, as well as high schools in the Fort Bend ISD, Alief ISD, Stafford ISD, Texas Charter Schools in the Houston area, along with expansions to multiple high schools in Austin and El Paso.

Houston Texans Foundation Vice President Hannah McNair said in a statement, "Our ultimate goals is to create access to girls flag for all girls who want to play and help make Texas the next state to sanction the sport." Adding, "The bonds girls create and the lessons learned through flag are invaluable, and we look forward to continuing to grow the game for the next generation of female athletes."

The Texans launched the program in 2023, and earlier in the year the team hosted it's second Girls Flag College Showcase. Creating the opportunity for over a hundred high school girls to show off their skills for college football flag coaches.
