Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has started investigating a media watchdog group, the same group that Elon Musk is now suing.
The platform that Musk now calls "X" but was originally called Twitter is suing the group Media Matters over a report that the social media company is allowing ads in support of antisemitic content.
The defamation lawsuit was filed by Musk in federal court in North Texas.
The Texas Attorney General's Office announced it is also launching an investigation into Media Matters for what it calls "potential fraudulent activity".
Attorney General Paxton says he's concerned by Musk's allegations that Media Matters fraudulently manipulated data for its report.
