A new hospital to serve mental health needs breaks ground in Wichita Falls.
This is replacing the old location of North Texas State Hospital which also has two other campuses in Northwestern Texas. Last year's legislative session approved over $450,000,000 in funding for the new hospital.
Governor Abbott says the updated Wichita Falls facility will offer increased access to mental health professionals and high-quality treatments. Both adults and adolescents can be cared for there with room for 200 patients. The hospital should be completed by 2027.
