After being benched during a game a Texas high school basketball player is now facing assault charges, accused of attacking his coach.

It happened earlier this month in the town of Willis, about 50 miles North of Houston.

Reports say the coach benched the 17-year-old because of his behavior toward an opposing player. The teen and his family were furious.

Police say after the game the teen and his 22-year-old brother waited for the coach in the parking and assaulted him. Another coach broke up the fight, and the brothers took off.

They were both arrested. The coach is recovering from the attack.
