Job numbers show Texas leading the nation in employment over the past year.
The state has reached new highs for both total employment and workforce size, according to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Labor and the Texas Workforce Commission, with nearly 16 million people. More than 15 million Texans are currently employed, including 14 million in non-farm jobs.
Over the past 12 months, Texas has added 192,000 jobs — the fastest growth rate of any state in the country.
