The Texas woman who sued the state of Texas last year after she was denied an abortion announced she's pregnant again on Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Kate Cox left the state to receive abortion care after she said her doctors told her the child suffered a rare condition that would give them little chance to live and put Cox's opportunity to have another baby at risk.

"Because I found a way to access abortion care, I'm pregnant again," Cox said during the roll call at the convention Tuesday night. "And my baby is due in January, just in time to see Kamala Harris sworn in as president of the United States."

Corpus Christi native Eva Longoria spoke briefly as did Cecile Richards, the former president of Planned Parenthood and the daughter of late Texas governor Ann Richards.

The roll call Tuesday night was celebratory, as the official one took place virtually earlier this month. It ended with Harris' home state of California.
