Even deep in the heart of Texas there is mourning for the late Queen Elizabeth.
More than 30 years ago the Queen and Prince Phillip visited the Lone Star state during a US tour. Stopping by The Alamo, she said "no state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born Texans."
The Alamo has posted a photo of the Queen's visit on its Facebook, saying "the Alamo is deeply saddened to hear that Queen Elizabeth II has passed away. We send our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom."
