Three hunters from Florida have died in a bizarre accident in Bastrop County.
The Bastrop County Sheriff's office says the three died Wednesday when they descended into a buried cistern in a corn field near Elgin.
Investigators say it was a feral hog hunting party and their dog fell in first. The three people, two men and a woman, went down to rescue the dog and it seems all of them died from what apparently were hydrogen sulfide fumes. The dog also died.
A deputy was lowered down to retrieve the bodies of Delvys Garcia, Denise Martinez and Noel Vigil-Benitez. An autopsy has been ordered for all three.
