Investigators are still looking for whoever shot and killed two bald eagles in Nacogdoches County late last month.

Officials say the bird's carcasses were found in a field about 20 miles northeast of Nacogdoches.

A non-profit named Operation Game Thief, affiliated with Texas Parks & Wildlife, is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the birds' killer.

The bald eagle is the national bird of the United States and killing one can earn you a $250,000 fine and two years in federal prison.
