In recent years, there has been a trend of new businesses combining games, sports and other activities with drinking. Now, the latest coming to the metroplex is hoping to get North Texans interested in one of the world’s biggest sports by combining it with alcohol.
It was recently announced that a UK company will be bringing cricket batting cages to The Colony this summer, giving DFW yet another great entertainment venue.
Cricket is one of the biggest sports around the world, but has never caught on in the United States. Now, after becoming one of the UK’s most popular social entertainment concepts, Sixes Social Cricket is hoping their version of the game can finally get Americans on board.
According to Dallas Culture Map, the new venue will be located at Grandscape and is expected to debut this summer.
Along with state-of-the-art tech-enabled batting nets, the venue will also have burgers, pizzas, and other sharing plates, plus classic cocktails, beer, wine, and shakes. “We believe that sport and hospitality hold an unrivaled ability to unite and connect people for good and good times shared and we're confident that Sixes will become a staple of the Dallas community," said Sixes Social Cricket founder Calum Mackinnon.
Maybe this will be what finally gets the US into cricket.
