A Texas Death Row inmate's execution has been delayed by the U.S. Supreme Court.

John Henry Ramirez was due to receive his lethal injection in Huntsville last night. But the high court intervened, granting a stay of execution to sort out Ramirez's claim that the state was violating his religious rights by preventing his pastor from laying hands on him inside the death chamber.

In 2004, Ramirez murdered a Corpus Christi convenience store clerk during an armed robbery that netted him $1.25.
